Mayor of London invites local residents to fast for a day

Speaking at a visit to the London Muslim Centre, Boris Johnson encouraged his constituents to undergo a day of fasting to help them better understand their Muslim neighbours.  The Mayor praised Muslim citizens for their contribution to community, social and economic life and said that there are valuable lessons which people from all backgrounds can learn from Islam all of which lie at the teachings at the heart of Ramadan.  For further information read the Daily Telegraph.
