How to legalise a document

Registering birth of British Citizens

The following documentation should be provided:

  • Child's local birth certificate issued by the Tunisian Town Hall in French
  •  Parents' British birth certificates (or Certificate of Naturalisation)
  • parents' marriage certificate
  • Completed application form
  • Consular fees.

Registering death of British Citizens

  • Local death certificate issued by the Tunisian Town Hall in French
  • British passport
  • Consular fees.

Certifying copies and translations

If you need a certified copy of your passport or any other certificate, you should bring the original document, together with your contact details and the required Consular fees. We can also make certified translations of British birth, death or marriage certificates.

Legalising a signature

If you need your signature to be witnessed, please contact us to make an appointment with the Vice Consul. You will have to come to our office in person and bring your passport with you.
